1954 AJS 500

This is a 1954 AJS 500, its a good solid running bike but as you can see very tatty.

The pre stripdown ride showed there were a few problems to sort out before stripdown began, most notably the oil pump but they are all sorted now and work can commence.

This will make a nice greenlaner when finished

The bike has been stripped down and the frame stripped ready for painting with high quality 2 pack paint.

The frame has been painted with high quality 2 pack acrylic paint and the engine, gearbox and swinging arm fitted

Primary Drive, Forks & Rear Jam Pots have now been fitted

The wheels are in and handle bars fitted

The carbs are on , the controls fitted and a brand new wiring loom is being built in situ

The wiring loom has been built from scratch with all new cable, sleeving, connectors, horn and switches. The newly painted tank is on together with the new front mudguard and tail light.

And finally with the newly recovered seat fitted and ready for its test ride.
