AJS Street ScramblerThis lovely AJS which was a bit of a mongrel. it started life as a 16M but has had a complete engine rebuild with a 500cc 18M top end fitted only 18 months ago sadly following large amounts of work it sat in a pig shed neglected and untouched for no reason we can fathom. Luckily it has survived its ordeal very well and will soon be back as a great street trail machine, again the bike has been through our assessment process and has been fired up and ridden. Hopefully this is purely a cosmetic rebuild.
After a road test and strip down the frame was stripped back to bare metal and painted with high quality 2 pack acrylic paint.
The Engine was cleaned, checked over and poilished and refitted to the frame along with the gearbox and refinished engine plates.
Now That the engine and gearbox are in the frame the wiring can be started. As a lot of 'off the shelf' wiring looms are very poor with low quality cable and badly crimped connections We decided to build a new loom from scratch for a better fit and more reliable electrics, after all no one wants to be stranded at the side of the road in the dark!.
Now we can fit the front wheel.
And prepare for the back wheel.
And then fit the back wheel.
Time now for the clutch and primary drive.
And the exhaust.
And now the finished bike ...
